The grand home of the former owners, Sir Richard and Lady Wallace, is the backdrop for this sumptuous gallery. The Wallace Collection includes works by heavyweight artists such as Titian, Rembrandt, Hals and Velàquez.
Proud Galleries

Proud's two galleries – Proud Central and Proud Camden – are definitely among London's coolest art galleries. Exhibitions are dedicated to photographs of popular culture, including rock music, fashion and film. At night, Proud Camden turns into a cutting-edge venue, with live bands and DJs.
The Photographers' Gallery
The Photographers' Gallery is London's largest public gallery specialising in photography. Expect to see photography in all its forms, from the latest emerging talent to historical archives and established artists.
Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA)
More of a scene than a traditional gallery, the ICA is a fiercely modern centre for all forms of art. Its diverse and ever-changing programme includes exhibitions, films, talks, live music and club nights. There's also a great restaurant and bar.
Camden Arts Centre

At Camden Arts Centre you can enjoy free contemporary art exhibitions and take part in artist-led courses and activities. The venue shows up-and-coming artists, as well as established artists that are producing new or surprising work.
Wapping Project
Previously a hydraulic power station, The Wapping Project is now a visual arts exhibition and performance space. The venue shows a daring programme of works among the original pumps and machinery left over from its previous life.
Dulwich Picture Gallery
Dulwich Picture Gallery is England's first purpose-built gallery. Dating back to 1811, the lush interiors are the perfect setting for one of the world's most important collections of European Old Master paintings, dating from 1600s to the 1700s.
Whitechapel Art Gallery

The Whitechapel Art Gallery champions international contemporary art, including work specially commissioned by the gallery. There's also an interesting historical archive and an exciting programme of talks, poetry evenings, performances and trendy music nights.
Serpentine Gallery
Small but perfectly formed, the Serpentine Gallery is located in a beautiful spot right the middle of Hyde Park. The gallery's free exhibitions showcase international modern and contemporary art.
The Barbican
The building may be big and sprawling (you follow coloured lines on the pavement to get there) but the Barbican is a world-class venue for music, film, dance and theatre as well as art. The gallery specialises in contemporary works across mixed media.
