Afternoon tea at the Athenaeum Hotel was a lovely mother's day treat. Plenty of food and tea very very good service. Would definitely recommend.
A perfect evening. Good food, service and a very pleasant atmosphere.
The food was great - really good choice on the set menu and excellent value for money.
Good atmosphere in the restaurant, especially a little later on in the evening when more guests arrived.
One very minor point was that the starters, though packed with flavour where a little on the small side. Having said that, by the end of the evening we'd had more than enough so it balanced itslef out!
This was my second time for lunch at The Athenaeum. It remains an excellent place for a quiet lunch. The setting is very pleasant, the food is good quality, the service attentive and friendly, and the toptable deal offers excellent value for money. They no longer offer the excellent lunch time buffet, although the set menu had a good range of options (3 or 4 per course), but we were told they may be bringing the buffet back at some point.
TT offer at Athenaeum makes this a great deal. Second visit and even better for being busier.
