Wildweb
Wildweb has all the information you'll need about London's green spaces. Discover the flora and fauna living in your area and check out their "lend-a-hand" section for volunteering opportunities.
Green Gym
The BCTV Green Gym charity was set up in 1959. It organises environmental conservation volunteering throughout the UK and around the world.
Environments for All is a project that encourages people from all backgrounds to get involved with local conservation. You can take part in conservation days out or Green Gym sessions where locals meet and take part in gardening and conservation activities with a trained leader.
Heath Hands
If you want to help conserve Hampstead Heath then Heath Hands is for you. There are sessions five days a week plus special events.
Tasks include pruning and maintenance, woodland management, summer bedding preparation, hanging basket preparation, landscaping and more, covering all areas of the heath.
Freightliners City Farm

A weekly gardening club takes place on Wednesdays at Freightliners City Farm. Flex your green fingers and help look after flowers, plants, trees and the growing of fruit and vegetables. There is also an opportunity at the farm to gain qualifications in animal care, health and safety and horticulture at no cost.
Most of London's city farms have volunteering opportunities and are always on the look out for helping hands.
Adopt-A-River
The excellent Adopt-A-River scheme was set up to encourage Londoners to look after their local stretch of river. Groups of five people or more can look after a section of the river and keep it clean and get involved in local conservation. Equipment, insurance and health and safety instructions are supplied.
