What Christmas crimes have you committed?
Prepare to face the wrath of Oliver Cromwell's fanatical henchman at the London Dungeon this Christmas.
Cromwell's Bloody Banned Christmas at The London Dungeon
This Christmas, the London Dungeon goes back to 1647 to the time when Oliver Cromwell banned Christmas.
Venture deep into the dark dungeons, which have been strewn with remnants of Christmas excess: robins on spears, smashed decorations, burnt Christmas trees and severed heads choking on their last mince pies.
You'll come face-to-face with Cromwell's puritanical henchman, Judge Mental, before being sentenced for your festive sins in the courtroom dock.
Cromwell and the Ban on Christmas

During his reign as Lord Protector of England, Oliver Cromwell and his fiercely puritanical splinter group made laws banning Christmas.
Some of our favourite Christmas traditions were made illegal – from holding Christmas services and carolling to hanging holly and drinking to excess.
In fact, Cromwell's 1647 law banning mince pies still stands – so make sure you don't offer one to your local bobby or you could face a 5 shilling fine!
Other Attractions at The London Dungeon

As well as visiting Cromwell's anti-Christmas hell, there's a lot more to see while you're at the London Dungeon.
Peek inside the filthy operating theatre of a butcher-surgeon, take a ride on the Boat Ride to Hell or scream at the top of your voice on Extremis: Drop Ride to Doom.
All the most blood-thirsty and grisly times of London's history can be found here from gruesome deeds of Jack Ripper and Sweeney Todd to the Great Fire of London.
