Catch the exquisite comedic films of French director Jacques Tati at London's Barbican this December.
Jacques Tati: French Filmmaker
Jacques Tati's beautifully composed films, with their gags, slapstick and gentle satire, all executed with perfect comic timing, reveal his enduring genius.
Tati's films draw on a background of clowning and mime to deliver finely-crafted movies with an emphasis on physical comedy, rather than dialogue.
Tati: Star and Director

Jacques Tati himself stars in many of his movies. Tati's best known, and most endearing character is Monsieur Hulot.
Monsiuer Hulot is a lovable but socially awkward fellow with his distinctive raincoat, umbrella and pipe: a sort of French, 1950s Mr Bean.
