    A Grammy-nominated solo artist from Havering, London. A classically trained musician, Heap taught herself music engineering, sequencing, production and sampling whilst at boarding school. After a moderatley successful solo record, Heap formed the electronic-pop duo Frou Frou in 2001. After one album and an extensive tour the duo disbanded in 2003. Heap went on to write and record 2005's 'Speak For Yourself', which included tracks that featured in popular teen drama The OC,a factor that helped Heap gain a firm footing in the mainstream music world.

After a support slot on Lily Allen's UK tour, festival appearances, and North American dates, La Roux polished off a successful year with a Mercury nomination and a UK headlining tour.

    Midlake came to life after a group of jazz students at the University of North Texas decided to form a funk/jazz band. Since then the line up has changed and so has their music. Afetr adopting a more 'pop' sound the band released their debut EP Milkmaid Grand Army in 2001. Nowadays their work is more Fleetwood Mac than Herbie Hancock.
