We can't promise you a room at Buckingham Palace or tea with The Queen but if your credit card allows, it's easy to feel like royalty in London
St James's Park and Buckingham Palace
Start your day with a stroll around St James's Park in the heart of the capital - and royal London. Three Royal palaces surround the park and it's the ideal place to enjoy some breathtaking views. From here walk towards the world's most prestigious family house, Buckingham Palace. Catch a familiar Royal ceremony, the Changing the Guard, at around 11am. It's wise to check the Royal website beforehand as the ceremony only takes place on certain days.
Walk Down Piccadilly
Once you have admired Buckingham Palace make your way through Green Park. See the imposing Ritz Hotel as you walk down Piccadilly. This sweeping road is full of shops and prestigious establishments such as upmarket grocer Fortnum & Mason. Visit the Royal Academy of Arts and observe its ever-changing line-up of world famous art.
After a taste of culture exit the Academy and cross over Piccadilly into another famous building - Fortnum & Mason. This department store is famous for its acclaimed selection of fine foods. You may want to check out the St James's Tea Room where you can enjoy lunch until 2pm or afternoon tea until 5pm. If you fancy a more substantial lunch make your way over to The Wolseley, a beautiful eatery that is regularly voted among the world's top 50 restaurants.
Shop Till You Drop
After refuelling in style take a trip down New Bond Street and Old Bond Street, home to the world's most prestigious brands. Window-shop - or splash out - in the likes of Gucci, Emanuel Ungaro, Ralph Lauren and Hermès. Pass the entrance to the genteel Burlington Arcade, pay a visit to the Asprey store and perhaps even spot a celebrity on your way.

Take a left into Brook Street and meander up South Molton Street. This pedestrianised road has cafés spilling out onto the pavement among its strong collection of top-quality high street brands. Make your way up London's busiest thoroughfare, Oxford Street, and head straight to Selfridges, a department store that has everything from high fashion clothes to cutting-edge electronics under one roof.
For a break from browsing, grab a pre-dinner drink in one of the many cafés. Sample some South American style at the chilled-out Igazu Bar or opt for the flavours of Italy at family-friendly Italian grill Frankie's.
Dine at St Christopher's Place
Once you have hit your credit limit relax over a leisurely meal in nearby St Christopher's Place. This hideaway is just behind Oxford Street and is full of tempting restaurants. End your day with a relaxing meal. Visit famed Italian brasserie Carluccio's Café or sample some Turkish dishes at the popular Sofra.
